Former conductor

John Hansen

Taken from the 1972 Quabbin Regional High School Yearbook

John Hansen was the conductor of the Quabbin Community Band from the late 60's through the early 80's.  He was also the Director of Music at the Quabbin Regional High School during this same period.  He did much to shape the music program at the High School and the Quabbin Community Band.
John's influence and committment to music put many of the necessary things in place that have made the organization survive through today.

John Hansen passed away on June 6, 2004 after an illness.  He will be missed..

Here's John Hanson in his ever familiar red, white and blue suit jacket that he wore to conduct the band through much of the 70's.  In the Mid-70's the Quabbin Community Band purchased Florence Hall to use as a practice hall and band center.  This picture was taken in the hall.  It shows John Hansen with a program book in hand.  The caption read: "John Hansen, director of Quabbin Community Band is justified with his pleased expression as he poses near the restorated stage of the partially renovated Band Center.
